Oat Processing & Grain Handling

ATOM has worked with this oat-processing operation over many years, providing controls for the main cleaning plant, three receiving areas and shipping, where processed oats are loaded into containers for overseas markets. As the site has expanded, we’ve extended the controls, including grain transfers to and from a recently added dryer.

Atom HMI provides monitoring and control across the operation. Instrumentation includes radar bin-level sensors, tank-level sensors, elevator rotation sensors and electrical power monitoring, giving operators visibility into equipment status and the movement of grain through the site.

Alongside the plant controls, ATOM developed a business management system for contracts, scheduling incoming and outgoing loads, and keeping grain sample records for each load. The software guides staff through each step, from creating a load and entering its scale ticket to recording grain sample results and calculating any applicable discounts.
